César Medel was born in Viña del Mar into a family of artists; his first guitar lessons were given to him by his beloved father. In 1989, he was accepted as a student of Ximena Matamoros at the "Izidor Handler K" Music Conservatory in Viña del Mar, with whom he developed his technique and personality on the instrument.
During his years as a student at the Conservatory, he carried out a busy schedule of performances and recitals, faithfully representing the institution, which earned him a full scholarship to study at the Conservatory. In 1997, he settled in Los Angeles, CA, United States, where he gives private guitar lessons and plays in numerous recitals, gaining recognition for his technique and sound quality.
In 2005, he moved to Seattle in the State of Washington where he recorded three guitar albums: "Grand Solo" 2005, "Unforgettable Songs" 2007, "Eternal Light" 2008, and where he maintained an extensive and intense tour that took him to give concerts throughout the State of Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada.
In 2009 back in Chile, Cesar dedicates his time to teaching and conducting music workshops for the Municipal Corporation of Viña del Mar.
In 2015, he inaugurated the Chilean Guitar Society, an entity with which he worked teaching classes and organizing the annual concert series in the city of Villa Alemana. Since 2022, Cesar has been residing in the city of San José de la Mariquina in the Los Ríos region.
In the current year 2024, he inaugurates the "Cesar Medel Musical Foundation," an entity where he teaches guitar and gives music workshops for kids living in rural areas of the region. Additionally, Cesar maintains a permanent schedule of concerts both in Chile and abroad.
His music is synonymous with genius and simplicity, melodies that penetrate the soul, with character and feeling.
